Our Origin Story

Breaking the Mold

Doodle was born in 2003 to change the perception of support companies and IT engineers generally. Most technical support companies back then were chasing big installs, server builds, on-premises hosting and structured cabling along with PC upgrades, phone systems and everything else that allowed for the supply of equipment and the ultimate support of it whether it needed replacing or not.

The Early Days

… and don't forget the days of ISDN and dial-up - fast internet was both lucrative and expensive for everyone involved.

Remote support was still very new so on-site visits were a necessity but came at a financial price.

Support Engineers were perceived as clever long-haired recluses with awkward telephone manners and social skills to match, hidden away in dark basements never to see the daylight. A peculiar breed!

We wanted to be different.

We wanted to break those pre-conceptions (and we do!)

We believe that working with a customer is a privilege; one that is never taken for granted.

Our Commitment

That we are trusted with the most critical of equipment and data operations for any organisation big or small is a responsibility that we take seriously. Yes, ultimately there is a fee for our services, and we provide a professional service in return, but the successful operations, productivity and growth of our client's business is still genuinely, as it always has been, our priority – we take it personally.

Our Approach

We don't always recommend changing new for old. We don't ever suggest something just so we profit, and we never leave any client, contracted or not, new or old, in the situation where they cannot operate – even if that means us involving and managing other parties if we don't have the answers, because honestly, we don't always have the answer (but most of the time we do).

Doodle's aim always is to integrate seamlessly with your organisation as if we'd had a relationship for years. We will meet with you, find out what you are trying to achieve or what's not going so well and not as a supplier, nor partner but as a company full of useful insight and knowledge that you can lean on when needed. We stay quietly out of sight and out of earshot, feeding information and ideas at all levels to achieve the best outcome when asked, even if that means sticking with the existing setup – we believe change should only be for the better.

Our Legacy

We've used this philosophy for the last 20 years and have had the pleasure of working with some of the biggest brands in the world, hugely creative independent TV production companies and the most hard-working and innovative small businesses across the country and we are proud to continue to support these organisations to this day, some of whom have been part of Doodle's story from the very beginning (and remain so to this day.)

Who We Work With

In the early days, our clients were mainly in the media and creative sectors *something to fill this out*, but as word got around we quickly moved to support other industries ranging from hospitality and PR firms, to construction and even airlines!

Until recently, we have never publicly advertised our services (or existence), mainly because we didn't need to, but also to protect the brands we work with, instead forging new relationships through word-of-mouth referrals and chance encounters – an achievement we are very proud of.
